Enrollment rate

Updated September 30, 2026

In one sentence

The enrollment rate tells you how many new members you gain for every 100 checkout transactions, over the same period.

How to calculate it

Divide the week’s sign-ups by the week’s number of sales. Some guides divide by the number of distinct customers instead. But a small business rarely knows that figure, while its register counts sales. What matters: always divide by the same figure, otherwise weeks can’t be compared.

What it tells you

This figure shows whether your team offers the card at the counter. If it drops, the card is rarely the cause: most often, the team stopped offering it. To make it climb: a quick sign-up, a QR code poster near the register and a free stamp on sign-up.

Tracking it by staff member

The card’s dashboard shows sign-ups by staff member. It isn’t about monitoring people. A staff member who signs up lots of customers often has a line that works, and the whole team can use it.

Example

In one week, a bakery records 400 transactions and 36 new sign-ups. Its enrollment rate is 36 ÷ 400, or 9%.
